Less do it, no more talking !!
Stop wasting our money on doing the railway feasibility report ! You have done it many years ago !! Just build the Rowville Railway...did you see how bad the traffic is every single morning from 6am - 9am and 3pm - 6pm....just a short distance from Jells road to Stud Road can take you 1/2 hour to get there !! This is very annoying !! With such a high population in Rowville, Lysterfield areas....we deserved to have a railway running to ease the terrible traffic ...how long to we have to wait !! We have wait for decade already !!… more

Stop talking and build the Railway line before its too late
This is long overdue.Should have completed this project in 1990s,but unfortunately there will be more feasibility study and rail line. The 12 railway crossing needs to be removed and under ground or overpasses built for the trains to cross.

Rail in Rowville (its a NEED not wont)
Being a resident of Rowville for 10 years I cannot stress how much this is needed in the community – having to drive 20 mins to Glen-Waverley train station is ridiculous. (Dandenong station is just not an option. Rowville needs a rail transport iits a NEED not a wont! It would make such a massive difference, we have the space to do it and the suggested train stations are exactly what is needed! The proposed rail thru Mulgrave works as Mulgrave, Waverley Park (mirvac) have also increased in population just Rowville & lysterfield. It about time rowville is no new… more

Quarry land?
Theres plently of land owned by the Quarry along side wellington road, there is plenty of space for an above ground station with parking and enough space for the train line then to either go up being a raised line, or go down turning into an underground railway. Theres also issues with wellington road during the morning as when many people are leaving to go to work and school, the trucks from the quarry are also filling up the road and congesting it. By installing this train line we can reduce congestion on wellington road. We COULD also install Light… more

Why shouldn't we have one like most other suburbs?
What is the valid reason why nearly all other suburbs except Rowville have rail. The reasons for Rowville to have a link are the same as for all suburbs that have rail today. The reasons are significant and can;t be summarised in this short space. It's easier to ask what has gone wrong.. for us not to have one after all this time?

Stop being Lazy and use Dandenong or FTG Railway Stations
Why dont the lazy people of Rowville use one of the 2 train stations in the suburbs right next to Rowville. Then the Government can use the money on more realistic and viable projects, not wasting time and money to appeaze the whining residents of Rowville

Elevated Express Bus or Light Rail not any option?
Why then was an elevated express bus service not considered? Its elevated roads could be reused in the future for the train as planned, once the congestion is resolved. This system has worked well in Brisbane recently. This would remove the dependence on the Dandenong line improvements as well, meaning a transport link could be built faster.
A bus or light rail would be easier to expand to Lysterfield in the future as well.13 votes -
Start taking action and build the railway
If it has taken this long and the project still has reached the end of stage one of two, it will take at least another year if not more to complete this and start construction of the actual railway.

Same mentality that create the mess on our roads!
While I think it is great we are talking about a new Rail Service, without change to the existing infrastructure we are just adding to a monster problem that will just get worst. Melbourne has 170 plus Level Crossings that effectively limit the train services that can go-exist with the road network!
Lets forget the spin that both sides of politics have given us - Our rail and Road system is third world in this regard. I recently had overseas visitors that got out of my car to take photo's of the trains moving at walking pace at Glen Iris,… more8 votes -

Extend to future proof
Extend the line to Napoleon Road. There is a ++50 Acre vacant land site there which would provide massive amount of parking as well as rail sidings. This extention would service the growing Lysterfield and Rowville area and services the needs of these communities into the future. Development of the major infrastrucure here will have a lessor impact on commuters and residents during the construction phase, there is a quarry adjacent to this site.

Build it on median strip between roads and elevated
Why cant we do this quickly and build it above ground on pillars like Brisbane has done closer to the airport ? Hence land acquisition costs are kept to a minimum. We should stop taking about it and just do it.

Great project in the making! Should happen soon,
The rail link must be from Wellington Plaza (behind the Quary) all along the Wellington road Centre Island connecting to North road up to Ormond station. This could be either a fast rail; system or even a mono rail
